• What we do

In 1982 The San Marcos Educational Foundation was created by a core of San Marcos parents, teachers, and community leaders.  Their objective was to provide the means for an enhanced curriculum through direct support to teachers for needed classroom projects.  

The foundation’s mission is to enhance and enrich the classroom programs of SMUSD while working within the established curriculum.

 

• Who we are

SMEF supports programs in levels K-12 which fall within the adopted state curriculum guidelines.  Annual funding is available for items and programs not normally funded by the district.  

SMEF is a nonprofit, tax exempt corporation operating independently of the district with its own board of directors.  
Our funds are generated through tax deductible contributions from businesses, individuals, payroll deductions, and annual fundraisers.  We are a 501-C (3) organization.  Our IRS service number is
95-3829-813.
